Robert Whittaker Accepts Fight Callout From Jan Blachowicz

Robert Whittaker, the former UFC Middleweight champion, accepted a fight callout from Jan Blachowicz, the former Middleweight champion and current #4 ranked fighter, less than a week after Blachowicz's recent loss to Navajo Stirling. Despite Blachowicz's age, 43, he promptly accepted the challenge via an Instagram comment, tagging Mick Maynard, the division's matchmaker.

Whittaker, who has fought only once in the past year, is notably faster and lighter than Blachowicz. However, Blachowicz, with his more extensive experience, poses a greater challenge in the division. Blachowicz has been fighting despite not winning since May 2022, after a knee injury sidelined him from Aleksandar Rakic. His best result since then was a draw with Magomed Ankalaev following a five-fight winless streak.

If Whittaker were to defeat Blachowicz, it would significantly impact Blachowicz's UFC career, potentially signaling the end of his career. Conversely, a win for Whittaker would bolster his position to challenge for the top spot in the division.
