Ready to hold talks with students, reforms on anvil: Jharkhand CM on protest over job exam 'anomaly'

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren expressed readiness to engage in dialogue with students protesting alleged irregularities in recruitment exams on August 7, 2026. The Chief Minister underscored the State government's eagerness to address the concerns of every student and assured comprehensive reforms based on students' demands.

Students from across the State were invited to share their grievances with the administration, which included demands for the cancellation of the 14th Jharkhand PSC Civil Services Examination and an independent probe into the irregularities. The protest had been ongoing for 14 days, with six demonstrators on a hunger strike and two student unions staging a protest march to the Vidhan Sabha.

Despite the government's offer to hold discussions, the protesting students alleged lack of a formal invitation to resolve the issues.
