Raiders quarterback Kirk Cousins and Maxx Crosby scuffle late in Friday practice

In a late practice session on Friday, Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Kirk Cousins and star pass rusher Maxx Crosby engaged in a brief altercation. The incident occurred after Crosby tipped Cousins' pass, leading to an incomplete throw. Cousins, who is currently leading the first-team offense in training camp, remained on the field to complete the drive despite the confrontation.

However, Crosby was sent to the sideline following the incident. Las Vegas Raiders coach Klint Kubiak highlighted that it is part of the camp for such situations to arise, emphasizing the need for players to act smartly and treat it like a game. Cousins expressed his frustration at Crosby for tipping his pass and then charging at him, weighing 42 pounds more and being three inches taller than him.

He insisted that it is essential for the team's quarterback to defend himself and exhibit an edge, qualities that have characterized him since joining the team. Tight end Michael Mayer also acknowledged that occasional tussles are common during padded practice days and stressed the importance of avoiding unnecessary physical confrontations that could result in penalties.
