NPP Must Unite To Win 2028 – Chairman Basty

Justice Maxwell Acquah, the newly elected Chairman of the Takoradi Constituency branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has dismissed claims of division within the constituency. He stated that the recent election results clearly demonstrate overwhelming support for the new leadership. Acquah emphasized that the primary goal for the newly elected executives is to unite the party and mobilize members towards winning the 2028 general election.

He reiterated that after the elections, the focus will be on cooperation and ensuring all members are on board. Acquah, known as Chairman Basty, secured 816 votes in the constituency executives' election, defeating Michael Aboagye with a significantly larger margin. This victory came after a long-delayed election that had been postponed due to a court challenge over the conduct of the branch elections, which was later dismissed by the court.

Other key positions in the constituency have also been retained by incumbents, including Emmanuel Kwabla Torkornoo as Constituency Secretary and Emmanuel Avudor as Communications Officer. Acquah acknowledged that there may be disappointment among some contestants but stressed that individual ambitions should be put aside to strengthen the party's efforts in the upcoming elections. He appealed to all parties to move past the elections and work together for the party's success.
