NIS assures uninterrupted passport services during centralised printing shift

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has assured Nigerians that passport services will remain uninterrupted nationwide following the centralisation of passport printing operations at the Central Personalisation Centre in Abuja. This operational shift, announced on the NIS's X handle, does not impact passport processing and issuance at any passport office or Nigerian embassies and consulates.

The NIS clarified that the printing stage of passport production has been moved to the Central Personalization Centre, while applicants can still access services at their preferred offices. The agency emphasized that passport offices across the country will continue to operate normally, and only the printing process has been centralised.

The NIS assured that measures are in place to ensure printed passports reach various collection points within a reasonable timeframe, with adequate arrangements made to dispatch passports to offices within a two-week period. The centralisation of printing operations aims to improve coordination, efficiency, and service delivery within the passport production system.
