Israeli army withdraws after two-day raid in East Jerusalem refugee camp

The Israeli army concluded a two-day operation in the Qalandiya refugee camp, following a large-scale raid that resulted in at least 51 Palestinians being wounded. The military campaign commenced on Wednesday, with dozens of armed vehicles invading the camp before dawn, accompanied by boxes, equipment, and maps. Military personnel spread out across various neighborhoods as home searches and raids took place.

Additionally, several residences and other structures were seized and repurposed as detention centers and field interrogation sites.

According to the Palestinian Prisoners' Society, Israeli forces apprehended or subjected over 60 Palestinians, including women and children, to field interrogations during the operation. Qalandiya camp, which houses more than 15,000 Palestinian refugees in a densely populated area, has frequently been a target of Israeli military raids due to its strategic location between Jerusalem and Ramallah, near Israeli settlements and other Israeli-controlled territories.
