I’m older than him; he has no right to imply that I’m a nobody – Nana Yaa Jantuah hits back at Afenyo-Markin

Nana Yaa Jantuah, a Presidential Staffer, has vehemently responded to Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin's disparaging remarks directed at her. The controversy arose following the receipt of the National Patriotic Party's (NPP) petition on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama. In an interview on Asempa FM's Ekosiisen, Jantuah vehemently defended her position, asserting that Afenyo-Markin had no basis for calling her "a nobody".

She firmly maintained that her appointment to receive the petition was a direct instruction from the President, as he and other high-ranking government officials were present at a national commemoration for the victims of the August 6 helicopter crash. Jantuah, who is older than Afenyo-Markin, challenged the younger Minority Leader to consider her age and qualifications.

She emphasized that by referring to her as "a nobody", Afenyo-Markin was essentially belittling the President's choice. The Presidential Staffer also highlighted her personal and professional achievements, including her work at GIPC, her educational background, and her father's legal profession. Jantuah questioned the rationale behind Afenyo-Markin's insults, questioning his authority to disparage someone merely fulfilling a duty on behalf of the President.

She also dismissed the notion that her lack of seniority warranted the disrespectful comments, asserting her senior position within government. Jantuah firmly stated her stance on the matter, reassuring the NPP that her petition would indeed reach President Mahama.
