Catholic group promotes education, empowerment through Bible quiz

The Lamp and Light Bible Trivia is a Catholic initiative that aims to promote education, empowerment, and faith among young people through a Bible quiz competition. According to a statement, the competition offers cash prizes and various support mechanisms such as mentorship, leadership development programs, and educational resources to assist winners in their academic and personal growth.

The top three contestants received N1m, N700,000, and N500,000 respectively, along with tablet devices, while the remaining finalists were given N150,000 each. The competition also offers a residential camp that includes Bible study, mentorship sessions, career guidance, counseling, entrepreneurship training, and academic workshops.

The competition's success has seen a 20% increase in participation this year, with contestants from Nigeria, Ghana, and Benin. Organizers emphasize that the cash rewards are intended to support the winners' education and personal development, and the ministry closely monitors the usage of these funds. The Watchman Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement sees this initiative as a valuable tool in countering negative influences and rekindling young people's interest in godliness and the study of the Bible.
