Before Stardom With… Temitope Racheal Eniola (Tope Peculiar)

Meet Tope Peculiar, whose real name is Temitope Eniola. She began her journey into the music ministry in 2004, with the name "Peculiar" given to her. Despite not having a childhood dream of becoming a musician, she had a deep passion for music from a young age. She led praise and worship in her local church and even authored a book on praise and worship songs in 2003. Her call to the music ministry came in 2004, confirmed by several men of God.

Initially, Tope faced numerous challenges. In 2004, she tried to record an album but faced financial difficulties and producer issues. The producer demanded a significant amount for studio time and production fees but later became romantically involved with her, causing further complications. She saved money and borrowed from various sources to complete the album, but the producer still failed to deliver on his end of the agreement.

After a two-year hiatus, Tope returned to the studio in 2007 and recorded two tracks in Abeokuta. However, the recording system crashed, causing further setbacks. Despite these challenges, Tope has released four albums: ILE OLOGO, JA SOPE, I AM PECULIAR, and OGO TON BORI OGUN. Her music spans various genres, making her a versatile music minister.

Tope's journey hasn't deprived her of anything; rather, she remains the reserved person she always was. She still keeps in touch with her old friends, despite her newfound stardom. However, she advises up-and-coming musicians to stay humble and not let fame change their perspective. She emphasizes the importance of staying true to God's promises and waiting for His timing.
