'Youngsters need to be counselled': Supreme Court agrees to hear plea against 'Sansad Chalo' march organisers

The Supreme Court has agreed to hear a plea against the organizers of the July 20 "Sansad Chalo" march in Delhi, which turned violent. Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohana emphasized the importance of listening to and counseling young people to prevent violence during protests. They cautioned that aggressive actions in the name of the state could escalate tensions and lead to further unrest.

The court directed that the plea be considered alongside other pending petitions related to student protests and alleged police excesses. Former Indian Air Force officer Manish Solanki filed the petition, seeking accountability and restraint from both the Union and state governments. The bench indicated it would hear this case along with the larger batch of pending matters and stressed the need for restraint and counseling of young protesters.
