Young innovators turn bold ideas into real-world solutions at QSC

The Young Inventors Programme, initiated by the Qatar Science Club as part of a national initiative, has empowered 35 young innovators from across Qatar to transform ambitious ideas into practical solutions. The projects, spanning safety, energy, AI, and sustainability, addressed critical challenges faced by society. Participants, who described the programme as an inspirational setting for developing scientific thinking, engineering skills, and teamwork, presented a range of groundbreaking concepts.

Programme director Eng. Aisha al-Jaber highlighted the initiative's role in identifying young talent and nurturing future innovators, emphasizing its contribution to building a knowledge-based economy and strengthening Qatar's position in science, technology, and innovation. The programme, delivered in three stages - design thinking, engineering design, and prototype development - culminated with the selection of the strongest projects.

Standout concepts included a sound-wave countermeasure for drones, an emergency desalination unit for divers and disaster response, a gas leak detection system, an AI-powered firefighting device, and more. Participants emphasized the broader educational value of the programme, noting its role in discovering career paths, enhancing innovative thinking, and providing meaningful learning opportunities during the summer break.
