Titans WR Carnell Tate Asked About Expectations for Rookie Season

The Tennessee Titans selected wide receiver Carnell Tate with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Tate is anticipated to be a key playmaker for quarterback Cam Ward upon his debut. When asked about these expectations during a recent training camp practice, Tate remarked, "I just go out there and play football. If you don't have expectations, you're not doing something right.

I just go out there and play football and have fun." Tate will join an established wide receiver unit comprising veterans Calvin Ridley and Wan Dale Robinson, alongside rookies Chimere Dike and Elic Ayomanor. "I try to pick Ridley's brain as much as possible," Tate added, "I'm soaking it all in, trying to get better and prepare myself for the season and ultimately learn and get ready."

Tate, a former Ohio State Buckeyes standout, is fully focused on preparing for his NFL season. He explained, "It's been non-stop from the end of the season to the combine, draft, OTAs, and now camp. It's non-stop football, and I love it. I'm not complaining at all; I get to play football." The Titans kick off their regular season against the New York Jets on September 13.
