Swish Analytics faces escalating legal battle as OddsJam, OpticOdds and RotoWire strike back

Swish Analytics is facing a wider legal battle after two new lawsuits were filed against the company this week. One lawsuit comes from sports betting odds providers OddsJam and OpticOdds, who claim that Swish improperly copied and redistributed their betting odds, which they say are proprietary. The other lawsuit was filed by fantasy sports publisher RotoWire, who allege that Swish improperly scraped and used their player news and injury information.

These cases add to the ongoing litigation that began in December 2024, when Swish sued OddsJam and OpticOdds for copying and redistributing Swish's proprietary sports betting odds. Swish's cross-complaint against OddsJam and OpticOdds alleges violations of California's antitrust law and other unlawful business practices. The companies are also accusing Swish of engaging in unfair competition, trade libel, and breach of contract.

RotoWire's lawsuit claims that Swish unlawfully scraped and misappropriated their proprietary sports information, which is crucial for creating player prop odds. RotoWire, which has spent decades building its trusted sports data resources, seeks damages and court orders to stop the alleged conduct.
