Son Heung-min held goalless in LAFC's Leagues Cup victory

Son Heung-min failed to score in Los Angeles Football Club's (LAFC) 5-4 victory over Chivas de Guadalajara in the Leagues Cup tournament. The match, held at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, saw Denis Bouanga and Roberto Alvarado score first-half goals for LAFC. LAFC goalkeeper Thomas Hasal saved Luis Romo's penalty to secure the shootout win.

Son had scored in each of his previous four MLS regular-season games following the FIFA World Cup break, but was a non-factor before this match.
