Romelu Lukaku snubs Saudi & MLS bids ahead of guaranteed Napoli exit

Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku is set to depart Napoli this summer in pursuit of a protracted stay in European football. According to a report by Nicolo Schira, the 6-foot-4 forward has declined several lucrative offers from Saudi Arabian clubs and Major League Soccer (MLS) in favor of a guaranteed move to Napoli. The 26-year-old will rejoin the Italian side in August 2024, having joined Chelsea for a reported €30 million in 2022.

Despite his time at Chelsea, Lukaku's form dipped, leading to two loan spells back in Serie A, first at Inter Milan and then Roma. His recent absence from Napoli's pre-season training camp further suggests the club has moved on without him. Lukaku was a key player for Belgium at the 2022 World Cup, scoring three goals and providing one assist, but Belgium was eliminated in the quarter-finals by Spain.
