Panthers Re-Sign Former Seahawks Offensive Lineman After DT's Retirement

The Carolina Panthers have re-signed former Seattle Seahawks offensive lineman Jake Curhan following the retirement of defensive tackle LaBryan Ray, according to The Charlotte Observer's Mike Kaye. Curhan, who was undrafted in 2021, played in 15 games and started 5 for the Seahawks before joining the Bears in 2024. He signed with the Cardinals' practice squad in October 2025 and made 13 appearances with one start this season.

With Taylor Moton out indefinitely due to a pulmonary embolism, this move appears to be a strategic decision to bolster the Panthers' offensive line. Rookie first-round pick Monroe Freeling is expected to start at right tackle, with former Packer Rasheed Walker starting at left tackle. Curhan, a versatile player who can play both guard and right tackle, could serve as a valuable backup for Freeling when he begins the season on September 13.
