Nurul Izzah kekal ahli PKR, terus sokong perjuangan Anwar

In a recent turn of events, Nurul Izzah Anwar, a former Permatang Pauh MP, has decided to remain a member of the People's Justice Party (PKR) and continue supporting the party's endeavors under the leadership of Anwar Ibrahim. Despite stepping down as the party's deputy president, Nurul Izzah expressed gratitude towards Anwar and the party's leadership, acknowledging their role in facilitating her decision to pursue further academic pursuits and embark on new paths in her life.

She stated, "My decision to step away was the result of extensive contemplation to embark on a new journey of knowledge and personal growth, without being perpetually tied to the world of politics."

Nurul Izzah emphasized her commitment to PKR, promising to continue backing the party's efforts in forging a better Malaysia under Anwar's leadership. She also expressed confidence in Anwar's successor, Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, as well as Amirudin Shari, as the election chief, ensuring their responsibilities are fulfilled with wisdom and diligence.

Prior to this, PKR announced Nurul Izzah's temporary leave of absence from her role as the deputy president following the party's national congress last weekend. While PKR Chairman Fahmi Fadzil reported that Nurul Izzah had requested a full resignation, the party's Central Management Council (MPP) ultimately allowed her a brief hiatus from her duties.

Nurul Izzah also announced her participation in PKR's Women and Youth Congress scheduled for August 14. She was selected as the party's deputy president in May, defeating former incumbent Rafizi Ramli. Subsequently, Rafizi exited the party along with former deputy president Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, to launch the Parti Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu).
