Man shot in chest and car found alight in Sydney's south-west

In Sydney's south-west, a 18-year-old man was shot in the chest overnight, with police now linking it to a vehicle fire. The victim was first shot twice in the chest on Mimosa Road, Greenacre, around 9pm on Thursday. He was then driven to Banksia Road, where paramedics treated him before he was hospitalized in stable condition. The man was transported in a Skoda SUV, which was later seized by police for forensic examination. Officers are questioning the driver of the SUV.

Subsequently, at around 3am on Friday, emergency services were called to a burning Toyota Hilux on Celia Street in Granville. Despite firefighters' efforts, the vehicle sustained significant damage. Police have now established a third crime scene and are treating all incidents as linked.
