Man admits he was part of syndicate that stored 58k vape items in Lentor house and Sembawang condo

Roy Tan Jun Jie, a 34-year-old man, has become the first member of a vape product syndicate to admit his involvement. The syndicate, which operated two warehouses - a terrace house in Lentor and a condominium unit in Sembawang, stored nearly 58,000 vape products. Tan pleaded guilty to being a member of the syndicate, an offense under the Organised Crime Act, and to possessing 31 vaporisers intended for sale.

He earned around $45,000 from his role as an area distributor. The syndicate was managed by three local leaders and coordinated deliveries of vaporisers from Malaysia. Four other members worked as local distributors, earning between $4,000 and $8,000 monthly. The group distributed vaporisers from mid-2022 to October 2025. The prosecution urged the court to sentence Tan to up to 11 months in jail and a fine of $45,000 to deter others from joining similar groups, given the health risks associated with vaporiser use.
