JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon makes one request to AI-hungry CEOs

JP Morgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon has launched a new industry initiative to address risks associated with AI, as the technology is rapidly adopted across various sectors, sources familiar with the matter reveal. Dimon has personally contacted CEOs of large banks and IT companies to participate in the initiative, which builds upon the Alliance for Critical Infrastructure (ACI) that JPM helped establish, according to the sources.

The ACI, which includes over 40 companies from financial services, energy, water, utilities, telecommunications, airlines, railroads, and other critical infrastructure industries, aims to foster collaboration and share information on AI risks and safeguards, the sources add. The outreach began in July, and the group plans to hold calls in August to discuss collaboration, sources say.

The initiative seeks to develop a shared understanding of AI usage, risks, and necessary safeguards, and to engage with the Trump administration on these issues. Recent cyberattacks on water systems have underscored the need for enhanced information sharing across industries, the sources explain. JP Morgan was one of the founding members of the ACI, which focuses on cross-sector resilience planning, information sharing, and responding to critical infrastructure threats, including cyber, physical, and geopolitical risks.

Dimon emphasized the importance of prioritizing AI and coordinating with government officials to identify and address AI-related risks, the sources note.
