Iniesta urges Barca to sign Osimhen

Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta has urged the Catalan club to sign Victor Osimhen as their next leading forward, following Robert Lewandowski's departure. The former Spain international, who has praised Nigerian striker Lamine Yamal, believes Osimhen is the ideal replacement for Lewandowski, citing his goal-scoring prowess and ability to fill the void left by Torres.

Osimhen's impressive 2025/26 Super Lig campaign with Galatasaray, where he scored 15 goals and provided five assists in 22 league appearances, has further bolstered his reputation as a top target for Barcelona. However, his lucrative salary demands, estimated at around €15m per season plus performance-related bonuses, pose a significant challenge.

Despite this, Osimhen has indicated a willingness to accept a pay cut, a move that may have already influenced Atletico Madrid's stance on the striker. Barcelona's sporting director, Deco, remains committed to Alvarez but continues to explore other options, including Vlahovic. With financial limitations complicating negotiations, Premier League clubs Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal have emerged as potential suitors for Osimhen before the transfer window closes.
