Guimaraes future decided before I arrived - Jaissle

Newcastle United manager Matthias Jaissle revealed that the future of Bruno Guimaraes had already been decided prior to his first meeting with the club's departing captain. It was confirmed that Arsenal is set to finalise their £75m transfer for the 28-year-old midfielder, following discussions. Jaissle met Guimaraes briefly at the club's training camp in Spain, but the decision had already been made.

The Brazilian forward expressed his emotions as he bid farewell to his teammates and club staff. Jaissle acknowledged Guimaraes' talent and character, stating that it's time for him to embrace the next challenge. The manager emphasized the need to focus on the players currently with the club and adapt to the upcoming changes. Guimaraes' departure follows the exits of three other key players, with Newcastle having spent around £146m on new signings this summer, mainly focusing on younger players from the Continent.
