Ghost Recon Wildlands gets a new story mission called Last Rites that introduces 'a new kind of danger' as Ubisoft confirms the next game is in development and is now 'ready to put it to the test'

Ubisoft has announced the development of a new Ghost Recon game, following the announcement of a free story mission titled Last Rites for Ghost Recon Wildlands. Released during the Ghost Recon 25th anniversary showcase, the DLC offers players a new kind of danger in Bolivia with La Llorona, a complex antagonist with a dark past.

Developers crafted the mission to keep players on the back foot, featuring low visibility, challenging terrain, and limited support. The Ghost Recon Insider Program allows players to sign up for closed testing and provide feedback to the development team. Alongside the new mission, the company has also confirmed a 60fps 4K resolution mode for current-gen consoles and PC for Ghost Recon Wildlands.

To celebrate the franchise's 25th anniversary, Ghost Recon Wildlands, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, and Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will be free to play on specific dates, with additional in-game items available for purchase.
