Jessica Ramos, a process engineer at Henkel's pilot plant in Dublin, shares her daily routine and the importance of communication and collaboration in her role. She works closely with cross-functional teams, troubleshooting, running trials, supporting CA batches, leading various projects, ensuring safe and efficient process development, and promoting environmental initiatives.

Her day typically starts with reviewing priorities, checking emails, and scheduling meetings, followed by aligning tasks based on urgency, which may involve supporting trials, troubleshooting, or progressing project work. Interactions with various teams, including operations, engineering, R&D, and contractors, are crucial. Ramos breaks projects into smaller tasks and prioritises based on timelines and impact, adapting quickly when issues arise.

She particularly enjoys projects like the PUMA project, which involves scaling processes from R&D to production while prioritising safety and efficiency. Ramos relies on a mix of technical and soft skills, such as process understanding, data analysis, P&ID analysis, and project management, to excel in her role. Effective communication and collaboration with different teams are essential, using tools like email, Teams, OneNote, and SharePoint, alongside regular meetings and calls.

Maintaining a healthy work-life balance is also important to her, achieved through effective time management and taking time to recharge.
