Brij Bhushan Singh gets grand welcome in Gonda with ‘Sher aaya’ chants, flower petals after acquittal in wrestlers' case

Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief and BJP Lok Sabha MP from Gonda’s Kaisarganj seat, received a grand welcome in his hometown of Gonda following his acquittal in a sexual harassment case filed by wrestlers. Singh was met with drums, music, chants, and flower petals as he arrived at Ayodhya’s international airport in a chartered aircraft.

Thousands of supporters filled the streets, showering his convoy with flower petals and raising slogans of “Sher Aaya” (the lion has arrived). Singh later visited the Hanumangarhi temple in Ayodhya, where he offered prayers and received blessings from seers. A large rally titled “Satyamev Jayate” was organized at Nandini Nagar Sports Stadium, where Singh also sought blessings at the Nandini Gaumata temple.

Extensive arrangements, including a community feast, were made for the event. Singh stated that the sexual harassment allegations against him were politically motivated, claiming that the controversy was limited to accusations of "good touch" and "bad touch" and did not involve anything beyond that.
