World Cup star Tillman criticizes ex-Leverkusen coach and fans as he leaves future open

Malik Tillman, the United States World Cup star, has criticized ex-Leverkusen coach Kasper Hjulmand and fans in a revealing interview with Kölner Stadtanzeiger. The 24-year-old confirmed he would have left Bayer Leverkusen if Hjulmand had remained with the club. Tillman responded with "Probably not!" when asked if he would still be at Leverkusen without a coach change.

Tillman, who scored two direct free-kicks for the United States at the World Cup, stated that he is trying to have fun again and prove himself after a disappointing past season. Hjulmand was replaced by former Toulouse coach Carles Martinez as the new Leverkusen coach.
