Woman arrested after four stabbed in London's Covent Garden

On Wednesday afternoon, a woman was arrested by UK police after four men were stabbed in London's Covent Garden. The Metropolitan Police disclosed that the four victims, aged 34, 39, 42, and 52, sustained stab wounds. The condition of their injuries remains unspecified. The arrested woman, aged 47, was taken into custody on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon and assault. She continues to be in police custody.

The incident is believed to have been a mental health-related event. During the police investigation, a pair of scissors was reportedly recovered at the scene. The London Ambulance Service responded to the scene, dispatching an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car, and an incident response officer. They treated all four patients at the scene and transported them to a major trauma center for urgent medical attention.

A large police cordon was established from High Holborn to the St Mungo’s homeless center in Endell Street. Passersby were questioned by officers before they were allowed to enter the cordoned area. Matt Bishop, a 42-year-old man who works nearby, reported witnessing a woman having a confrontation with three police officers and brandishing a weapon. However, he did not witness the stabbing itself but did observe the woman running towards the crossroads, appearing to be "pretty incoherent."
