We need to keep the judiciary far away from our politics – Miracles Aboagye

Dennis Miracles Aboagye, a member of the New Patriotic Party's communications team and an aspiring National Communications Officer, has called for the judiciary to remain completely separate from politics. In an interview on JoyNews’ PM Express, Aboagye expressed his concerns about the growing closeness between the judiciary and the Executive.

He stated that he wrote a letter to the Chief Justice regarding his worries and received a statement from the Judicial Secretary addressing his concerns. However, Aboagye still feels uneasy about the situation, as he believes it undermines public confidence in the courts, particularly among those who may not enjoy the government's favor.

He dismissed attempts to justify the closeness by comparing it to previous administrations, asserting that he is a citizen and is worried about the current state of affairs. Aboagye also highlighted selective justice as an issue, pointing out that some criminal cases are being heard during legal vacations while many older cases remain pending.
