Trump hails progress but warned Iran of ‘hard hit’ if no deal reached

In a recent interview, US President Donald Trump alleged that Iran had been deceiving the public regarding ongoing talks with the United States. Trump claimed that he had initially planned a massive military operation against Iran, but their requests for negotiations ultimately led him to pursue diplomatic channels. The president emphasized that he would not allow Iran to acquire a nuclear weapon, stating that the Strait of Hormuz would open at some point.

Trump also criticized former President Barack Obama for his Iran deal, alleging that Obama had "bribed" Iran by providing billions of dollars in cash. Trump insisted that military pressure was instrumental in bringing Iran back to the negotiating table. While he stated that military options were still on the table, Trump expressed hope that they would not be necessary, as he believed the ongoing discussions with Iran held promise.

The president reiterated that Iran's access to nuclear weapons would not be tolerated, and vowed to take further action if Tehran continued to stall the negotiations. Iranian state media, citing an unnamed source, reported that the agreement with Oman to open the Strait of Hormuz would be delayed, as long as the US continued to threaten Iran. Trump warned that Iran would face severe consequences if they withdrew from the talks, as they already possess the capability to threaten the United States.
