Several activists returned to Israel, transfered to police after crossing border into Lebanon

Seventeen activists associated with Uri Tzafon movement were apprehended by the military and returned to Israel after crossing the border into Lebanon on Wednesday. The group claimed they remained within Lebanese territory for hours before authorities detected their presence and handed them over to the Israel Police. Uri Tzafon Movement issued a statement via Telegram urging Jewish settlement in southern Lebanon.

The movement has previously backed Israeli citizens in attempting to enter and settle in southern Syria, describing such actions as moral and historical steps to protect communities in northern Israel. This Wednesday's border crossing followed a series of similar attempts by HaBashan Pioneers to establish Jewish settlements in Syria.

Last week, the Israeli Defense Forces detained three Israeli activists from the movement after they crossed the Syria border. Earlier reports indicated that these activists were in Syrian territory for several hours before IDF located and removed them. The military strongly condemns such incidents, stating they disrupt operations and create hazardous situations for all involved.

This was the fourth recent attempt by the group to enter Syria. The IDF emphasized that legal action would be taken against the activists to deter further attempts at illegally crossing Israel's northern borders.
