Rod Liddle played the politics of hatred - we should be honest about his legacy

However, few tributes have acknowledged his racist, bigoted, and Islamophobic views that were an integral part of his public persona. He defended the brutal massacre of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar and trivialized the suffering of women and girls in the process. Liddle's mocking and ridiculing of Muslims was evident in his articles, where he referred to them as "Muslim savages" and dismissed concerns about their actions. His disdain extended to mocking the burka and suggesting that it symbolized a rejection of British values.

Despite his contributions to journalism, it remains uncertain whether Liddle left the world a better and kinder place, given his embrace of hatred and bigotry throughout his career.
