Mob tries to set Shakib Hasan’s house on fire for attending Hasina's presser

Shakib Hasan, a former Bangladeshi cricket captain and ex-lawmaker, attended a media interaction in New Delhi addressed by ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Shortly after, unidentified individuals allegedly targeted his residence in Bangladesh's Magura district around 9 pm. According to police officer-in-charge Md Abdullah Al Mamun, miscreants threw brick chips at the house, shattered windows, and attempted to set it ablaze.

However, there were no reported injuries. No immediate information was provided about the identities of those involved, but security personnel have been dispatched to the area, and an investigation is underway. The attack occurred following Shakib's participation in the media event, where he was present alongside Sheikh Hasina, who has been residing in India since losing power last year.

Authorities have not officially connected the attack to the event, and no group has claimed responsibility for the incident.
