Jung Hae-in promises classic K-romance vibe in 'Our Sticky Love'

SEOUL, August 5 (Yonhap) -- Actor Jung Hae-in has expressed his intent to deliver the charm of classic Korean romance in Netflix's upcoming original series "Our Sticky Love," stating that his character, Jang Tae-ha, embodies the essence of steadfast love. Portrayed as a boxing coach who claims to be the boyfriend of Go Eun-sae, a memory-impaired prosecutor played by Ha Young, Tae-ha is described by Jung as the ultimate expression of pure love, willing to risk his life for his beloved.

At a press conference promoting the series, Jung emphasized the romantic nature of the project, hoping it will resonate both with the audience of his home country and the global community.

Director Kim Jang-han, who previously directed "Do You Like Brahms?" and "My Demon," explained how he incorporated crime drama elements to underscore Tae-ha's romantic decisions and actions. According to Kim, blending genres was crucial in portraying Tae-ha as a romantic figure unafraid to sacrifice his safety for his love. The director expressed his hope that the series will be embraced by audiences worldwide.

Ha Young, making her lead debut in a romantic comedy after appearing in several successful Netflix projects, expressed her initial nervousness about the role. However, she gained confidence upon seeing the edited versions of the series. Ha Young described the series as a classic, capturing patient love over time, and expressed her wish for viewers to connect with the deep sentiment portrayed.

Adding to the star-studded cast, Heo Seong-tae, famous for his role in the first season of the global hit "Squid Game," plays Baek Sang-gil, a ruthless crime boss.
