Japanese winger Yokota joins Rangers from Hannover

Daisuke Yokota, a 26-year-old Japanese winger, has agreed to a three-year contract with Rangers, including an option for a fourth year. This marks the ninth signing of the summer for Rangers. Prior to joining Rangers, Yokota has played in Germany for FSV Frankfurt and Carl Zeiss Jena, Latvia for Valmiera, Poland for Gornik Zabrze, Belgium for Gent, and most recently Hannover.

After impressing with five goals and four assists in Hannover's German second tier, Yokota signed a permanent deal with them this summer. Yokota expressed his excitement about joining Rangers, a club with a rich history and passionate supporters. He aims to help the team achieve success this season. Rangers manager Derek McInnes highlighted Yokota's value, stating that he has gained experience across various European leagues and possesses qualities that will bolster the team's attacking options.

The deal is contingent on international clearance and visa requirements, and Rangers have not confirmed Yokota's availability for their Europa League third qualifying round tie against Jagiellonia Bialystok in Poland.
