Hybrid or electric planes could carry out part of the flights of less than 500 kilometres in Europe as of 2030.
The association Transport & Environment and three manufacturers, including French company Aura Aero, claim that the European industry will be ready in the next few years to produce battery-powered planes capable of carrying 10 to 90 people over short distances. But several steps still remain to be taken.
