Communication with Mojtaba ‘very difficult at moment’, says Iran’s president

President Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran has expressed difficulties in communicating with the country's supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei. The president met with Khamenei and reported that the discussions were productive, with Khamenei demonstrating "kindness and very sound logic". Khamenei, who sustained injuries in the US-Israeli strike that sparked the ongoing Middle East conflict, has not made a public appearance since succeeding his father.

The younger Khamenei has communicated primarily through written statements, leading to speculation about his relationship with other high-ranking officials. Notably, Khamenei did not attend his father's funeral last month. Pezeshkian defended his leader, asserting that productive meetings had taken place and that Khamenei remained a vital source of strength for Iran despite the current challenges.
