Bulldog Breakdown: 2 Bulldogs named to preseason watchlists

Two Bulldogs have earned recognition in the preseason by being named to watchlists for the nation's top players. Simeon Harris, a senior defensive back, has been added to the watchlist for the Bronko Nagurski Award, which honors college football's premier defensive player of the year. Last season, Simeon was the team's second in tackles and ranked seventh in the nation for interceptions.

DJ Lafitte, a senior defensive lineman, has been placed on the Outland Trophy watch list, which recognizes the nation's top interior lineman. Simeon is described as a natural leader, vocal, well-informed about the game, and capable of assisting his teammates in the defensive backfield. In contrast, DJ's growth since joining the team is highlighted by former Fresno State Football head coach Matt Entz, who observes a significant transformation in the young man he first met.

Both Simeon and DJ have also been included in the Pac-12's preseason Impact Players list.
