Armed man arrested at Trump's California golf course

In Rancho Palos Verdes, California, authorities apprehended a 38-year-old man named Jeanine John Taele at the golf course near Donald Trump's residence. The arrest transpired on Sunday, two days prior to Trump's scheduled visit. During the apprehension, law enforcement recovered a 16-round magazine filled with hollow-point bullets from Taele's pocket.

Subsequently, a thorough search of Taele's vehicle yielded a loaded pistol, with a bullet in the chamber, alongside an additional magazine, also loaded with hollow-point ammunition.

Plainclothes federal agents observed Taele "ambulating across the golf course grounds, capturing photographs and video, and exhibiting behaviors indicative of surveillance and planning activities." President Trump subsequently arrived at the golf club in the evening via helicopter to participate in a fundraising event organized by the Republican National Committee.

Upon the completion of the apprehension, investigators from the sheriff's department and the FBI's counterterrorism unit conducted a search of Taele's home. Their findings included an assault-style rifle, a pistol, a bulletproof vest, high-capacity magazines, an extensive array of ammunition, two radios, as well as "numerous notebooks containing alarming statements." The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office will determine the course of legal action following the presentation of the case to prosecutors.
