3 Malaysian women nabbed at Jakarta airport with drugs

Three Malaysian women were apprehended at Jakarta's Soekarno-Hatta Airport two days ago, following the discovery of alleged drugs in their possession. According to the Indonesian customs department, the trio exhibited suspicious behavior upon their arrival from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. CNN Indonesia reported that the Indonesian customs department had stated the women were singled out for additional scrutiny upon landing, resulting in the identification of suspected narcotics within their luggage, bags, pockets, footwear, and medication containers.

The authorities managed to seize a total of 2.4 grams of what is believed to be cocaine, 8.4 grams of pills suspected to contain MDMA, and 16.9 grams of rolled tobacco, which was allegedly mixed with ketamine. The director of the Bukit Aman narcotics crime investigation department, Hussein Omar Khan, confirmed the arrest of the trio, revealing they were Malaysian women in their late twenties to early thirties.

Hussein further disclosed that two of the women had prior criminal records for drug offenses. Police believed that the women had traveled to Indonesia for a vacation and the small quantities of drugs found on them were intended for personal use.
