Withdraw all cases against protesters: CPI MP to Modi

Rajya Sabha member of the CPI, P. Sandosh Kumar, has penned a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting an end to the "systematic harassment and intimidation" faced by students who took part in protests against the NEET paper leak. Kumar asserts that the protest was a genuine manifestation of students' frustration and that participants are being targeted by RSS workers and BJP leaders.

He demands that all cases against the students be withdrawn, citing acts of intimidation and threats against them, both in public spaces and at home. Kumar emphasizes that the students' exercise of their democratic right to protest against injustice has been met with intimidation, which undermines the foundation of democracy. Despite Prime Minister Modi's efforts to connect with "Gen Z" through social media, the youngsters are facing threats for voicing dissent.

Kumar highlights the discrepancy between the image and reality of democracy, stating that it cannot be reduced to Instagram reels while dissent is met with intimidation.
