UAE public holidays: How to maximise your remaining annual leave this year

As the UAE nears the end of the calendar year, a significant public holiday is on the horizon, offering residents a golden opportunity to extend their annual leave. The Prophet Mohammed's birthday is expected to be the next official day off on the calendar, with a predicted date of Tuesday, August 25. Savvy employees can leverage this by taking the Monday before, August 24, to create a four-day stretch of time off, spanning from Saturday, August 22 to Tuesday, August 25.

As the year concludes, the National Day holidays on Wednesday and Thursday, December 2 and 3, provide a further chance for extended leave. By strategically planning time off from Monday, November 30 through Sunday, December 6, residents can secure nine consecutive days away from work, culminating in a productive and relaxing year-end.

It is crucial to note that final public holiday dates are contingent upon confirmation by the UAE's moon-sighting committee, and variations in the number of days off may occur between the public and private sectors.
