Sudah tiba masa PH beri peruntukan sama rata selepas tewas PRN

A civil society group is urging Pakatan Harapan (PH) to pass uniform development funding legislation for all parliamentary members, following their losses in the Johor and Negeri Sembilan PRN elections. The group believes this move would demonstrate the long-term benefits of equal development funding for the party.

If PH is unable to form a government after the upcoming elections, members and deputies may face significant challenges serving their constituencies under a government dominated by Umno-PAS, the NGO claims in a statement. The organization is urging the government to pass uniform development funding legislation for parliamentary members when Parliament reconvenes in October, and for all state governments to do the same in their respective DUNs.

The group also praised Perak and Kelantan for already providing equal funding to all deputies, even though such measures have not yet been institutionalized. It calls on both states to lead the way by enacting this measure into state legislation, rather than simply setting an example for the rest of Malaysia to follow.

The group is urging Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to restore access to development funding for Subang Wong Chen and Lee Chean Chung, two PKR MPs who were barred from accessing the MyKhas portal that manages special constituency funding in May. The portal provides funding for constituency projects for MPs.

The group rejects Anwar's claim that development funding can be continuously channeled to the public without involving parliamentary members. If true, they ask, why did PH clearly demand equal development funding for parliamentary members in the 2021 memorandum of understanding with the Ismail Sabri Yaakob-led government?
