RCCG founder’s daughter denies calling out church leadership over father’s legacy

Pastor Titilayo Adewale, the daughter of the founder of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has denied allegations that she criticized the church's leadership for potentially overlooking her late father's legacy. In a statement shared on her Facebook page, Adewale debunked a viral claim stating that she had previously asserted many senior pastors were unaware that her father, Pa Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi, was the church's founder.

Adewale clarified that the attributed statement was not hers, either implicitly or explicitly. She emphasized her father's lack of interest in earthly recognition and his belief in building people rather than constructing physical structures. Adewale contended that the greatest legacy her father left behind was people, not buildings, and expressed doubt about his willingness to own personal property, given his reluctance to acquire wealth or earthly possessions.

She contended that the viral reports were aimed at creating unnecessary controversy and division, rather than addressing her, her father, or RCCG leadership.
