Palantir lifts annual revenue forecast on steady demand for AI-powered data analytics

Palantir Technologies has increased its annual revenue forecast, indicating robust demand for its AI-powered data analytics software from both government and commercial sectors. Denver-based Palantir's shares surged 14% in extended trading following the update. CEO Alex Karp stated that the company's business is growing at an unprecedented rate and scale.

Palantir forecasts annual revenue between $8.150 billion and $8.158 billion, up from the previous range of $7.650 billion to $7.662 billion. The company's U.S. government revenue rose by 90% to $809 million in the second quarter, driven by investments in advanced defense technologies like Palantir's AI-powered battlefield software and Anduril's autonomous drones.

Palantir is collaborating with Anduril to develop software for the U.S. President's Golden Dome antimissile shield initiative. The company's U.S. commercial revenue forecast was raised to over $3.424 billion, up from $3.224 billion. Palantir's domestic growth is particularly notable as European governments become more cautious about relying on American tech platforms, and competition intensifies from AI startups.

French intelligence agency DGSI will replace Palantir with French competitor ChapsVision, and Palantir is contesting a decision to block its £50 million contract with the London police. Despite the share price decline from its November record high, Palantir's third-quarter revenue forecast of $2.160 billion to $2.164 billion exceeded analysts' average estimate of $2 billion.
