'Not afraid of arrest': Udhayanidhi's first response after police action

DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin reacted strongly on Tuesday to his arrest over a remark he made during a protest in Thanjavur against the Vijay-led Tamil Nadu government. The speech was interpreted as a double-meaning comment, after a crowd began chanting the name of a Tamil actress. Udhayanidhi claimed the video of his speech was doctored and vowed to challenge it legally, insisting he had said nothing wrong and was not afraid of arrest.

He also alleged that the Vijay-led government was filing false cases against DMK MLAs and engaging in horse-trading since taking power. Following his arrest, protesters in Pudukkottai condemned the police action.
