Kejriwal E20 protest LIVE: AAP leader, 100 others to march to PM's residence at 12 pm over ethanol petrol

Arvind Kejriwal, the former Delhi Chief Minister and national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), plans to march to the residence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with 100 supporters. Their intention is to submit petitions opposing the use of E20 petrol, a fuel blend containing 80% petrol and 20% ethanol. Kejriwal claims that the administration is promoting E20 under pressure from the United States, as they are purchasing ethanol from the US, thereby yielding to US President Donald Trump's influence.

He further questions whether the government's insistence on E20 petrol signifies a "hidden agenda." Kejriwal has been persistently demanding a meeting with the Prime Minister to address his concerns about the E20 policy. He had previously sent a letter requesting an appointment to discuss his issues, but has not received a response to date.

The introduction of E20 petrol has drawn criticism from various opposition parties, consumer groups, and even the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. Concerns have been raised about the compatibility of E20 fuel with older vehicles, potential reductions in fuel efficiency, and increased maintenance costs. If the march by Kejriwal and his supporters is not permitted by the authorities, it will further fuel the ongoing debate surrounding the E20 policy.
