Judicial Service honours former Chief Justices, retired judges at awards night

The Judicial Service of Ghana honored former Chief Justices, retired Superior Court judges, and other esteemed members of the Judiciary at a Dinner and Awards Night held at the Labadi Beach Hotel on July 30, 2026. This recognition coincided with the 150th anniversary of the Supreme Court. The ceremony celebrated the exceptional service of individuals whose work has shaped the Judicial Service and bolstered justice delivery in Ghana.

Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonni praised the award recipients and all judges and staff across the country for their unwavering commitment, professionalism, and dedication to their duties. He commended their service, noting that it had not only enriched the institution but also inspired future generations of judicial officers. Baffoe-Bonni emphasized the lasting impact of their contributions, stating that their legacy would endure through the law reports and the lives of countless Ghanaians whose trust in justice was bolstered by their service.

Justice Richard Frimpong, Chairman of the Supreme Court @150 Anniversary Planning Committee, also expressed gratitude to the stakeholders for their support throughout the anniversary celebrations. He acknowledged the participants, wisdom, guidance, and steadfast backing provided during the events of the celebration.
