Following the launch event, attended by Industry and IT Minister D.Sridhar Babu, RMIT University Vice-Chancellor Alec Cameron, and BITS Pilani Group Vice-Chancellor V. Ramgopal Rao, Telangana Life Sciences CEO Sarvesh Singh emphasized the program's focus on addressing practical industry problems. The scheme involves companies sponsoring employees and research scholars to pursue doctoral research aligned with their business objectives, while BITS Pilani and RMIT University offer academic supervision, global expertise, and research mentorship, alongside sponsoring some research scholars.
This collaborative approach is anticipated to produce research that is commercially relevant, promote technology transfer, and strengthen collaboration between researchers and industry stakeholders. Telangana Life Sciences CEO D.Sridhar Babu highlighted that for years, Hyderabad has established its global reputation through software development and the manufacture of life-saving medicines.
