India steps up arms supplies to Israel, sent almost 3,000 arms consignments since October 7

India has significantly increased its arms supplies to Israel since the October 7 events, sending nearly 2,600 shipments of weapons, ammunition, parts, and components between October 7, 2023 and November 30, 2025. This surge in deliveries can be traced back to Israel's defense companies, primarily Elbit Systems, Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), and Rafael.

These companies have adapted their strategies to align with India's "Made in India" policy, aiming for increased local independence and a minimum threshold of 50% local production. Despite this, India remains Israel's top defense export destination, accounting for 29% of Israel's defense exports from 2021-2025, according to data from the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI).

The Israeli defense relationship with India has been bolstered further by the war, which has heightened concerns over Iranian influence in the region. Israeli Minister of Defense Amir Baram visited India in June to discuss this evolving alliance. Many of India's arms supplies to Israel include small arms parts, explosive ammunition components, and military vehicle parts.

However, Amnesty International's analysis also criticizes India for not adequately implementing human rights due diligence in its defense trade practices. India's defense import diversity, which includes major suppliers like Russia, France, and Israel, stands in contrast to the strict self-reliance requirements it has recently imposed.
