HSV decide to part ways with Dompé

HSV directors Claus Costa and Kathleen Krüger announced the club's decision to part ways with Jean-Luc Dompé. The 30-year-old French player still has one year left on his contract with the Bundesliga side. Costa acknowledged in an interview that HSV and Dompé had benefited greatly from each other over the years. However, he acknowledged that the player's sporting situation had changed significantly during the second half of last season.

Costa stated that after consulting closely with the coaches, HSV came to the conclusion that Dompé no longer fit into their plans for the upcoming season. Krüger, a former FC Bayern team manager, confirmed that the decision was made "exclusively for sporting reasons." Dompé, who played 113 times for HSV since joining the club from Zulte Waregem in 2022, received a club-record fine for disciplinary reasons a few months ago.
